How
to Survive those Night Time Feedings and Diaper Changes with
Baby!by

Are you wondering how you are going to Survive those Night Time Feedings and Diaper Changes with Your Baby?
If you are feeling like it is hopeless that you will ever feel refreshed again and get a good night's sleep since your baby's arrival, Just know you are not alone. So many of us are doing the same thing and feeling the same way. I know that may not be a lot of consolation,
but hopefully some of these suggestions will help ease the night time awakenings for you and your precious new baby.
There is nothing more tiring than just getting dozed off at night finally getting to lay down after a long busy day and snuggling into your pillow and when your body hits that deep sleep zone, the sounds of your little one's cries awaken you.
So you get up stumbling along the way and feeling like a brick has hit your head in the process or if you have toddlers possibly tripping over a hot wheel or other small toy magically placed for you to step on.
I have found it works best to only turn on a low light, whatever you do if you can help turning on the bright light avoid it. The dimmer light will keep the baby in a calmer and more sleepy state. If you need to change the diaper in the night try to do so whispering or being really quiet this will keep the baby from becoming more awakened and alerted possibly thinking that its time to wake up and play. Change the diaper as quickly as possible and if they are still small the gowns work great as you don't have to move their legs around so much to wake them more.
If they need to eat, always be prepared, the quicker you can console the baby the less likely the baby will want to stay awake if the needs are met quickly. Keep the baby snuggled in a blanket so they feel more secure and this will also help to keep them calm.
If you are formula feeding keep an extra bottle next to your bed for quick mixing and that is less time for the baby to cry and become really good and awake and angry, Feed the baby while quietly holding them in the darkened room and feeding and burping and most of the time I found this worked best and kept the baby calm and more likely to go right back to sleep instead of wanting to stay awake several hours and then go back to sleep.
Of course all babies are different and all situations are different so this may not always work but if it can ease your night time waking time just one or two hours here and there can mean a lot of sleep to a new parent!
I always heard to Sleep when the baby naps during the day and from my experience, I was never able to sleep when the baby sleeps because that is the only time you get other things accomplished for yourself during the day or if you have other children it's just not a possibility.
I wish you many restful nights with your new blessing in this life and enjoy those sweet precious moments with your little ones, snuggle it up and savour it for it passes by too quickly. Just take it one day at a time and it won't seem as overwhelming, I know those night time hours can pass by so slowly when you are exhausted so hang in there and know they grow too fast and it will get easier soon!
